Yangshuo

Yangshuo, Guangxi 广西壮族自治区， 阳朔

One of my favorite places on planet earth is Yangshuo 阳朔. Actually, it is the karst peaks and Li river 漓江 surrounding Yangshuo that are my favorite, but it's all great. Visiting wasn't originally on the itinerary, but making time was well worth it. As seen on the 20 RMB currency note, these land formations and rivers were as mysterious as they were beautiful.

I had a very, very short 3 days to spend in Yangshuo so right off the bus I started wandering and found the Yulong River 遇龙河 which flows perpendicular to the Li river and meets near Yangshuo.

Yeah, a bit touristy, but a lot of fun.

My favorite activity was biking around the Yulong river. The weather was perfect and I really slowed down. Everything was great here.

Within an hour of arriving I met a new friend (at the location of the first picture). She is from the area and showed me a few local spots. Her English name is Cindy and her Chinese name is Cao Shuang 曹霜.
